Steps to Merge Contacts in Salesforce

If you are planning to merge contacts in Salesforce, you just have followed the procedures step by step all along:

  1. Open a browser on your computer.
  2. Create a new tab on the browser to do this work.
  3. Click on the search bar and type the URL of Salesforce or you can copy this link https://www.salesforce.com/ by typing Ctrl + C and then paste it URL bar by pressing Ctrl + V; to copy first you have to select the link.
  4. Now press the ‘Enter’ button and it will take you to the Salesforce login page.
  5. Now enter your Username and Password to log in.
  6. If you are in Lightning now you have to change the interphase to Salesforce Classic.
  7. In the classic mode first, go to your account page by clicking ‘Accounts’ located on the top bar.

  9. Find out the duplicate contacts from here. If there any.

  10. If you spot any duplicate contacts then click ‘Marge Contacts’ located on the top of all contacts.

  12. Under this page ‘Marge Contacts’ option will be shown.
  13. Put the tick mark before all Contacts that you want to merge into one contact.

  19. To check it again; first, go to the accounts page.
  20. Again, scroll down to the contact’s location.

At the contacts merging your personal information are taken from either 1st or 2nd contacts. The same type of information from both contacts can’t be taken. But activity and other reports of both contacts are kept to the new merged contact. So, losing the record is no problem now.
