Looking for the best alternative to RSS readers? I was too, so I bought a bunch, each with their ups and downs. After testing five of the most popular feedreaders on the market, I have a few recommendations. But first.

Alternative to Feedly

When it comes to RSS Readers, users often find themselves troubled with some unexpected issues. Many people get settled for Feedly, one of the very first to launch its service. The clean, simple interface managed to attract casual as well as power readers.

Better Alternative to Feedly to Work with IFTTT or Zapier

A fair share of limitations, including expensive Pro subscription, makes the users look for alternatives. Though you can find a good number of options, not everything can work with IFTTT or Zapier. That’s where you’ll have to know the points for choosing the right choice.

Why IFTTT or Zapier Compatibility Matters?

Online professional platforms are getting more comprehensive at the very moment. It becomes essential to keep track of your activity, from client communication to team management. IFTTT (If This Then That) & Zapier can allow you to manage different platforms under one tab.

In simple words, merging or integration of apps becomes popular with the compatibility. You can easily collaborate to explore, share, or implement certain projects. Team plan, boarded notice, member highlighting, research hub – the benefits come impressive.

RSS by Zapier

The platform initiates ‘RSS by Zapier’ to ease the process for yourself. Zapier lets you pull one or multiple feeds, allowing you to get content from other sources. It’s also possible to create your customized feed through the program.

Unfortunately, there’s no well-defined facility to integrate such replacements for IFTTT. You may consider searching for the available options for developing ideas. But it’ll take considerable time & effort to reach one suitable built-in method. So a roundabout way is a much better approach.

Feedly Alternatives to Match the Specs

Although Feedly is one RSS reader, there’s more to explore with its features. Therefore, the exact requirement is unlikely to work every time. It entirely depends on your objectives towards the intended app.

•  InoReader

A full pack of impressive features is likely to win the heart at its first use. The interface perfectly meets the power user’s satisfaction. Full tag & folder support ease feed organizing to keep the reader neat. For the best part, you can utilize Zapier for integrating other apps.

•  The Old Reader

The platform includes jam-packed features to stand as one complete Feedly alternative. It lets you create a feed from a direct URL without supporting RSS syndication. OPML file extension enables the full migration of your feed. It’s one apt, worthy replacement with limited IFTTT/Zapier support.

•  FeedSpot

It appears one basic freemium RSS reader app with a minimalistic display. You can follow blogs, sites, podcasts & even Youtube. Interface elements mostly remain tiny enough to stay hidden for giving a full-screen experience. You can patch the alternative with IFTTT/Zapier on certain conditions only.

Standard News Feed on FeedSpot

There are many alternatives to continue with your RSS Reader experience. Searching online, you’ll find an unbelievable number of resources to replace Feedly. But the options get noticeably narrow with IFTTT or Zapier usability.

Summary: Is there any alternative to Feedly which will work with IFTTT or Zapier?

  • Yes, there are many other alternatives to Feedly.
  • I use Inoreader.
  • I prefer The Old Reader over everything else - it's the closest to Google Reader, but has improved on many aspects and become a great reader in its own right.
  •  I like AOL Reader for it's minimalism and minimalist iconography. It is clean and clear with just enough options to make it useful. (But it lacks some of the more social aspects that readers like Feedly have.)
  • Alternatively, you could use 'Google News' which is basically Google's version of the feed reader. If you're not too keen on using yet another service, this would be a quick way to check various feeds with a single search term.
  •  Have you tried News+? It got me started on RSS feeds before I switched over to Feedly.
  • There are many alternatives to Feedly that will work with Zapier and IFTTT.
