Change Wi-Fi name

When you get a new Wi-Fi router, the default Wi-Fi name is usually matched with the Brand, like TP-Link 2.4 GHz, D-Link FAQ, etc. However, you may want to change this name and give something a little catchier and recognizable by the users. This is why today I will show you how you can change the name of your Wi-Fi.

Changing Wi-Fi Name Using Browser

TP-Link Routers (Old interface)

You have to know the IP address of the router. For TP-link, it usually is 192.168.1.1.

  1. Enter the IP address on the address bar of any browser (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc.).

  3. Enter these fields (you can find them on the user manual) and log in.
  4. Click on “Wireless” and then open “Wireless Settings” from the left sidebar.

  3. After logging in, click on “My Devices” on the top bar.
  4. Now choose the Wi-Fi router (i.e., DIR605L) that you want to change the name of.
  5. Click the down arrow under the “Enable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network” section to expand the menu.
