How To Fix Corrupted Iso File?

But not to worry, i'll tell you how to fix corrupted iso file and try to get it working again with no data lost.

There have been many instances wherein an ISO file does not open, and the user gets a “file has been corrupted” message.

There are many reasons for this, and there are many fixes as well. Suppose you have been getting that error message. In that case, it may be because you have previously installed a third-party application to run the ISO file or because of damaged or corrupted files.

1).  Uninstalling your current ISO application and installing a new one

To uninstall your current ISO app, follow these directions below

• In the windows menu, go to search.
• Type Control panel in the search box.
• When the results show, click Control Panel.
• On the upper right part of the window, click on view by and select Large Icons.
• Find and locate Programs and Features.
• When you find the 3rd party application to open the ISO, left-click on it.
• Find the Uninstall button and click it to uninstall the app.

Once the app is uninstalled, a quick google search should look for a better ISO application.

2).  Repairing your existing ISO application

In the windows menu, go to search.

• Type Control panel in the search box.
• When the results show, click Control Panel.
• On the upper right part of the window, click on view by and select Large Icons.
• Find and locate Programs and Features.
• When you find the 3rd party application to open the ISO, left-click on it.
• This time, click on the Repair/Change button instead of clicking on the Uninstall button.
• From here on, follow the instructions on the screen to repair the app.

After the process has ended, try running the app and opening the ISO file and see if this fixes the issue.

3).  Use the System File Checker

For this one, you need to be on an administrator user account. Follow the instructions below.

• Type cmd on the search box in the start menu. Look for Command Prompt and open it.
• Enter the command SFC /scan now.
  
• On your keyboard, press Enter.
• Just let it run and wait until the process locates and repairs all errors it can find on your computer.
• After the process ends, restart your computer.
• When the computer starts up again, check if you can now run your ISO file without any problems.

4).  Delete the ISO file and download the same file again

This is an essential and straightforward solution, but it does work in some cases. It could be that when you first downloaded the file, the wifi connection got lost, or there was some other trouble that corrupted the file.

Try downloading the same file again and see if you can run it. If the problem persists, try downloading the file from a different source. It might be that the file on the initial source was already corrupted.

5).  Using DISM

For this method, you need to open the Command Prompt again, but we will be using different commands this time.

• Go to Start and type cmd on the search box.
• When the results of the search appear, choose Command Prompt.
• This time, we will be using three different commands. These are as follows.
  
• After typing each command, hit Enter on your keyboard.
• Wait for each command to finish processing before entering the next command.
• This whole process will last about 30 minutes.
