Why do we buy a Bluetooth headset?

We buy Bluetooth headsets because we are fed up with the long cable wires attached to the wired headsets. Apart from that, we don't need our device to be taken with us if we are roaming around the house. Instead, we use a wireless headset to attend our calls even if our cellphone is further away from us.

But the problem with the Bluetooth headset is that it needs to be charged after its usage, and you might be thinking that charger is the only thing with the help of which we can charge our headset. Well, it might not be the case because you can charge your headset without a charger.

Do you want to know how? It's pretty simple. Let me explain to you how easily you can charge your headset without a charger.

How to charge a Bluetooth headset without a charger?

Need of Power Source

To charge a headset, you will need a power source. That power source can be a computer, Laptop, Tablet, power bank, or any smartphone.

If you have one of these devices, then the next thing you will need to have is to connect the headset and your device.

  • Charging your headset with a smartphone or tablet

If you are trying to charge your headset with a tablet or smartphone, this small guide will help you.

For this purpose, you will need two types of cables; an OTG cable and a USB cable.

Depending on your headset charging compatibility, you will buy a USB cable.

Two types of USB cables are available:

  1. The USB cable having a C-type connecter at one end, which can be attached to the headset, and the 3.0 male connector end, which can be attached to the OTG cable's 3.0 female connector and,
  2. The USB cable having a 3.0 male connector at both ends.

The C-type end of the OTG cable will be connected to your phone, and the 3.0 female connector end of the OTG will be connected to the male 3.0 connector end of the USB cable.

Now, if your headset is compatible with C-type, you will buy the C-type USB cable.

Connect the C-type end of the USB cable with the headset and the 3.0 male end with the 3.0 female connector end of the OTG cable.

If you have bought the USB cable having both the ends of 3.0 male connectors, you can join one end to a headset and another end to 3.0 female connector of OTG cable.

Remember that C-type end of the OTG’s cable is attached to your phone.

Like this, your headset should start charging. However, before buying OTG cable, first ensure that your smartphone supports the OTG cable. Otherwise, it will be of no use.

  • Charging headset with PC or Laptop

Another option to charge your headset is through a PC or Laptop. If you are near your PC or Laptop, you might want to charge your headset. In that case, you will need a USB cable, and an OTG cable will not be required.

Make sure that the USB you bought is compatible with your headset and Laptop. The USB compatibility may not be the issue with PC or notebooks because Laptops usually come with varieties of USB ports. Still, the problem is with the headset you are using. So be careful while buying a USB cable.

Now, suppose you see that your headset battery is running low. In that case, you connect it to the Laptop through the USB cable by connecting one end of the USB cable to the headset (either type C or 3.0 male connector end, depending on your headset compatibility) and another end to the Laptop. In this way, your headset will start charging.

Recommendations

Try to have a power bank for your headset and smartphone charging when traveling somewhere. If you are charging your headset with your smartphone, no doubt that your headset will be charged, but it will consume your smartphone's battery, which you might need while traveling.

While charging the headsets from Laptop, make sure that your Laptop has enough charging because if it comes to power mode, it might slow down the charging process of your headset.
