A bookmark is storage for websites that allows you to visit them without exploring or searching for them quickly. With this many web pages that people visiting regularly, there’s a good chance you’ll come across a few that are worth bookmarking.

Modern browsers have no trouble keeping track of several bookmarks, but if the system gets reinstalled or changing to a new device, the bookmarks will get lost. Don’t worry; Google Chrome provides a workaround for this. You can quickly export all of your bookmarks if you wish to save or recover them. I’ll explain how you can export from Android.
Exporting Bookmarks From Android
The bookmarks will be automatically synced if you use the same Chrome profile on your computer and Android. It’s the simplest way to export bookmarks from Android and to do so
- Open “Chrome” on your Android.
- Tap on the menu option in the upper-left part.

- Navigate to the “Settings.”

- Sign in with your Google ID. Now, tap on the “Sync” option.

- Now, open Chrome on your computer and go to its settings.

- Tap on “Turn on sync.”

- Log in with the same Google ID that you used on your Android.

- Tap on “Turn on.” It will sync the bookmarks from your Android. You can access those bookmarks from any device using the same Google account.

- Go to “Bookmark manager” from the “Bookmark” in the Chrome settings.

- Click the bookmark organize menu option in the upper-left part.
- Tap on “Export bookmarks.”

- Choose the directory where you want the bookmarks file to be saved. Name the file to your preference. Make sure to save the file type as “HTML Document.”

To Import Any Bookmark
- Open Chrome on your computer.
- Go to Bookmark manager. Use this shortcut to open Bookmark manager: Ctrl+Shift+O.
- Click the organizer menu and select “Import Bookmarks.”

- Now, go to the directory where the bookmarks are exported. Choose which bookmark you want to import and click “Open.” It will import the selected bookmark on your Chrome, and you can access them from your Android.

You can get the Chrome bookmarks on your Mac also. It is super easy to export them on the safari browser. To do so
- Launch the “Safari” app.
- Click the “File” option.

- Navigate to “Import From” and select “Google Chrome.”

- Mark the checkbox for “Bookmarks.” If you want to import the browsing histories, tick the “History” option.

- Click on the “Import.” It will automatically import the bookmarks on your Safari from Google Chrome.
If you wish to change or remove the bookmarks file, you must close Google Chrome first. Then go to the directory “AppDataLocalGoogleChromeUser DataDefault.” From here, you can delete the bookmarks you want.
Summary: Export Bookmarks from Android
- Open the Chrome App on your Android phone.
- Tap the three vertical dots icon (top right).
- Tap Bookmarks.
- Tap Export bookmarks at the bottom of the list.
- You will be prompted to select a folder to export your bookmarks to, but only your external SD card can be exported to. So, if you don't have an external SD card installed on your device, you will not be able to complete this export.
