When you mention your website or webpage anywhere on the internet, it’s a great idea to add a hyperlink to it. The reader can easily find your website just by clicking on it. On the internet, we see so many hyperlink texts every day. Undoubtedly, it’s a very convenient process to visit the actual website.
Usually, you need to provide a hyperlink while sending a mail, writing on word, creating PowerPoint presentations, and so on. Whatever you do, the process of creating hyperlinks is almost the same everywhere.
However, adding hyperlink in the macOS is a bit tricky. So, here we are going to help you learn how to hyperlink in Mac.
The Process of Creating Hyperlink

Adding Hyperlink in Mac Mail
- Turn on your Mac device and go to the “Application” and select “Mail” from there.
- Navigate to the “File” menu visible on the left top corner and click on it.
- Select the “New Message” option from there. A new window will open up for typing a new mail. You can use the shortcut “Command+N” to do the same.
- Create a mail following the regular mail writing process.
- Select a particular word (Name of the website) or sentence where you want to insert the hyperlink. Or, you can directly insert the link at the end of the mail.
- Go to the menu bar and select “Edit”. Scroll down and click on the “Add link”. You can do it using the “Command+K” option as well.
- You will see a dialog box named “Enter the internet address(URL)”. Write or paste the web address(URL) of the website you want to hyperlink.
- Click on “Ok”. The hyperlink text will turn colorful and underlined. Click on it to check the result.
Insert Hyperlink in PowerPoint
- Open your Mac device and open the “PowerPoint”. Select the file you want to add a hyperlink.
- Select the text where you want to add a hyperlink.
- From the menu bar on the top select the “Insert” tab and click on “Link”. You will see a dialog box named “Insert Hyperlink”.
- Select the “Web page or File” from the menu.
- Enter the web address in the dialog box and click “Ok”.
- The selected text will turn colorful and underlined. Click on it and it will jump to the website you have hyperlinked.
Editing The Hyperlink
Sometimes the hyperlink text can’t open the website that has been added. The reason behind this is mostly, you have entered the wrong web address. If this is the case, you can still fix it. Here is the process.
- Open the file you added a hyperlink previously. Select the hyperlinked text.
- Select the “Edit” menu and click on “Edit Link”. You can also use” Command+K” for this.
- Edit the web address you previously added. Use the “Remove Link” option if you don’t want this to be a hyperlink text anymore.
- Click on “Ok” to save the edit. Click on the hyperlink text and check if it’s working this time.
