Adding background before joining the meeting

You can turn on the background before joining the meeting and also after joining the meeting. It’s better if you change the background before joining the meeting as it doesn’t interrupt the flow. I’ll talk about both but first, below you’ll find the necessary steps to add background to your screen before joining the meeting.

1. First, log in to your Microsoft Teams id with your credentials.
2. Check if your camera is turned on from the initial joining screen.
3. Turn on the background options from the initial joining screen as shown in the picture.
4. You’ll see background settings on the right side of the screen now. From there currently, you’ll see no background is selected which means your default background will show now.
5. You can also make the background blurry by clicking the blur background option.
6. You can see other background options and scroll the background option for more choices. You can choose any type of background that suits your need.
7. For example, for a professional meeting, you can choose a calm and classy interior image to compliment the topic.
8. Finally, if you are happy with your current background choice click to join now to join the meeting with your unique and new background.

Adding background after joining the meeting

Forget to change the background and joined the meeting already! Don’t worry you can also change the background now. But how? Follow the below steps for adding background after joining the meeting:-

1. In the meeting screen from the menu shown in the image click on more actions.
2. From more actions option click on show background effects.
3. As before from the background settings option change any type of background you like.
4. Click on the preview option to see how the background will look which others won't see before you apply it.
5. Click on apply and turn on a video after you are sure about your background change and enjoy the meeting.
