Have you ever used different IP camera surveillance system to monitor your house and office? If yes, then you might know that IP cameras come in different models with different features and functionalities. Perhaps you have also come across a situation where you wanted to know about some specific feature or function of your IP camera but weren’t able to find the answer anywhere. In such a scenario, it is always advisable to contact the technical support from the company that manufactures that IP camera or maybe even check the user manual of your IP camera. However, in such cases where the answer resides somewhere on your IP camera itself, you can use certain tools such as CurrPorts to extract information regarding some specific features or functions of your IP camera.

Find IP Camera UID

UID is the unique ID code of the IP camera that has 20 characters. You can apply the UID to connect to the internet and remotely access the IP camera with the Android or PC application. There are some ways to find the UID of the IP camera. Typically, the methods work for every model.

Finding IP Camera UID

  1. Usually, the UID of the IP camera is on the device itself. Look for a QR code sticker on the IP camera, and it will show you the UID or serial number. If you wish to find it from your PC or Android phone, open the browser and put the camera’s IP address in the search field.
  2. Put the username and password if it asks. Select the “PC view” option.

  3. Pick the “Settings” menu. Extend the “Network” option.

  4. Open the “P2P” window. It will show the UID of the IP camera on the “UID” field.

  5. For the ZOSI IP camera, you will find the UID on the bottom left part of the device with “111A” as the last four digits.

  6. You can also apply the system wizard to find the UID on the ZOSI camera.  Restart the DVR/NVR system and wait for the “System Wizard” page to open. There you will get the UID at the QR code.

  7. The “System” page also shows the IP camera UID. Open the main menu and pick the “Information” option. Then, access the “System” page. The UID is on the “Device ID” field.

  8. You can find the UID from your Android too. Download the “ZOSI Smart App.” Then, install it.

  9. Then, sign in to the device and select the option with three dots. It will show the dropdown menu. Pick “Settings.”

  10. It will display the device name, model, and version. Click on it, and the device info page will show the device ID or UID number.

  11. To find the UID from Windows and Mac, download the “ZOSI AVSS PC Client” and set it up. Then, sign in to your account.

  12. Select the IP camera title from the device list and open the context menu. Click on “Edit Device.”

  13. The “Device Management” page will display the UID on the “Device ID” field.

  14. For the Amcrest IP camera, the UID starts with “XCPTP” and then other digits in the QR code sticker on the bottom right part of the camera.

  15. You can also find the UID from the “Amcrest Link” app. Download and install it. Find your device and select it. There you will see the UID number on the UID field.

  16. For the Reolink IP camera, you can use the “Reolink App & Client” from Android, Windows, Mac, etc., for finding the UID.

  17. If the IP camera has a connection with the router, you can join it to your PC and find the UID. Access “Reolink Client” and select “Add Device.” Then, click on the “Scan Device in LAN.” It will show the UID.
