Steps:
- First, we need to open our audio editing software. We can use any audio editing software. But I use Garageband for making a ringtone because Garageband provides the quickest and most user-friendly environment for making the best ringtone.
- From the file or welcome screen, select "Create a New Project." Then you have to give your project an appropriate name, save the project file into your desired memory location, and click "Create" to save the new file.
- Now we have disabled the default track and settings. Garageband software automatically makes a piano default track for the project. We have to delete the default track. For this, select "Track" then select "Delete Track."
- Then From the "Track" option, we need to select "New Track."
- After that, we have to select the desired voice memos, With which we will make our ringtone. Drag and drop all the memos into the media section of Garageband software.
- Then we have to open the audio file as a wave file on which we will do the editing work.
- First, we have to select the song short enough to set the file as a ringtone on our phones. For this, we need the "Trim" option. Select your desired time and then click on trim. After that, delete the extra portions of the wave file.
- Then adjust the time level.
- To make the ringtone more streamlined, we need to smooth out the wave file. For this, we need to select the track's volume. We can use the blue line as starting and finishing points and add these points below the track to set levels. To fade out the song at the end of the ringtone, we select the "Fade" option. We can also do this at the beginning of the song.
- Then adjust your playing time speed from the "Speed" option.
- After that, adjust the noise from the "Noise cancellation" option. We can also remove the silence approach from this option.
- If your ringtone is short enough, then make the ringtone repetitive from the "Repeat" option. It can repeat 2/3 or several times.
- At last, we have set its level the same in all points of the wave file. Because in the voice memo, the level of audio is not the same at all points.
- Next, in Garageband, from the "File" option, we need to select "Export to iTunes." We have to make sure that our playmaker is at 1 when we do this.
- Now in iTunes, click the "Advanced" option from the toolbar and then "Convert Selection to MP3" to convert the wave file to an.mp3 file. This will leave 2 files with the same name in our playlist, but one is our desired ringtone, and the other is the larger .aiff file. The .aiff larger file is unnecessary, so we can delete it if we want, but .mp3 is the main ringtone file that we will use as our mobile ringtone.
- The .mp3 file should be 550 kb in size or less than it. If the size is greater than 550 kb, it might not work on our phone.
- Now transfer the .mp3 file into our phone, select the file, and use it as a ringtone.
