When a document is being shared by many users, especially in office applications, it is beneficial to add comments within the document itself. However, some people, like your boss, want documentation; therefore, those documents need to be printed with the comments in them.
To print the said documents, you have to understand how a comment is added on a Google Docs document.
Here’s how:
How to Add Comments?
- Highlight the phrase or word you want to add comments to.
- Click on the comment icon found in the toolbar above or on the right side of the document. The image below shows its 2 locations.
- Once the comment box opens up, you can type your comments and click “Comment”. It is highly encouraged to use short and concise words as much as possible.
- If another user gets a hold of the document, he/she can comment back by clicking on “Reply”.
- Once another user acknowledged the comment and/or gave a reply, he/she must click on “Resolve.”
- Each resolved comment can be modified by the author of the said comment. He/she can either delete, edit, or add a link to the comment by clicking on the 3 vertical dotted buttons beside “Resolve”.
